Outhouses behind C Cenac Oyster House
Outhouses behind C Cenac Oyster House
Photo contributed by Charlie Cook aka The Outhouse Digger
Used by permission

The photo on this post card shows a scene behind buildings on Main street in Houma, LA around 1900. There are two outhouses and a two story wooden cistern shown. Charlie dug pre-Civil War bottles behind one of the buildings toward the back of the photo, but hidden. The stream is Bayou Terrebonne. Privy to the past! From Charlie Cook [Digger Emeritus]

What else can you see in the images shown? Many times a photo is worth a thousand words and I've only elaborated with a few so why don't you add some "color commentary" to my collection. If your addition is worthy, you will find the quote added on the Comments to the Curator page.
