These photos were contributed by Joe Young. He took pictures of outhouses and found my web site, contacted me and here they are. The stories behind them are below...
This is the fox den outhouse located near Seabreeze, NJ, outside of Fairton, NJ. He said when he took the picture, the fox wasn't around and he was glad of it. Someone told him a fox had built a den inside the outhouse!

The pink picture above is of an indoor home made toilet. It's not much different than an outhouse. This was in a commercial crabber's cabin in Bayside, on the Delaware River. The state got all the land and the two remaining cabins were vacated. Unfortunately, vandals burned this cabin down. He figured people might get a kick out of seeing this; after all, the contents were thrown outside.

This one is what is left of an outhouse in Aldine, NJ, not far from the Smith Farm. It was leaning bad last time he saw it, but he didn't have his camera with him. I guess it finally fell in the mean time. There is also a picture of the uninhabited little house next to it.

The WPA Outhouse is within a half-mile of his place in Hopewell Township, Cumberland County, NJ. It is an original WPA outhouse. At one time, this farm had an original 16' x 16' bunkhouse from the POW camp in what is now the Palatine Lake State Park near Bridgeton, NJ. He wishes that bunkhouse was still with us.

The last two pictures are of the Head of the River Church and Cemetery in Cumberland, NJ. It is still in use, but needs a good cleaning due to some slob using it. It's a 2-holer and is located in the cemetery.

What else can you see in the images shown? Many times a photo is worth a thousand words and I've only elaborated with a few so why don't you add some "color commentary" to my collection. If your addition is worthy, you will find the quote added on the Comments to the Curator page.
