Inside the Wheeler, Arkansas Outhouse Photo from K. Hill Used by permission |
These pictures were taken in the contributor's back yard in Wheeler, Arkansas. He built it out of salvaged materials, shipping crates and pallets, drywall, used steel studs and 2 X 4’s. He put in a salvaged aluminum window and a one way window from a remodeled retail store. The floor is cedar from an old cedar closet and the toilet bench top is from an office desk. He spent about $25 cash for the house materials. It took a few evenings and a weekend to build. The interior has plywood lower walls and stucco finish above with an outhouse border. And here's the kicker! It’s functional but the wife is limiting the use pretty hard. Liquids only. It should last a long time!
What else can you see in the images shown? Many times a photo is worth a thousand words and I've only elaborated with a few so why don't you add some "color commentary" to my collection. If your addition is worthy, you will find the quote added on the Comments to the Curator page.
