Mr. Bobe built a new Outhouse this summer in northern Wisconsin and sent me these pictures of the old Outhouse he was replacing as well as the new Outhouse. His description of the construction details follows.
The history of the old Outhouse is a little sketchy. We know it was built about 1929 by friends that went to our cottage. We still used the Outhouse when the power goes out (NO WATER) but the old one was getting dangerous so we decided to replace it. The old one was cremated and buried after an extensive photo session. I did save the hole for a picture frame. It was a good thing I built the new one because the week I did, there was a tornado and the power was out for 5 days and did it get used! All the people on the point used it.
The new design was taken from a toy Outhouse incense burner with a few modifications. |
What else can you see in the images shown? Many times a photo is worth a thousand words and I've only elaborated with a few so here is your chance to add some "color commentary" to my collection. If your addition is worthy, you will find the quote added on the Comments to the Curator page. You can use Email to respond. If you choose to go to the Comments to the Curator page, be prepared to relax with a large beverage of your choice. The reading is spectacular! |
