Nope; these American outhouses aren’t in America. They’re in Uganda, East Africa. They are used by visiting American missionaries. The usual Ugandan latrine has a cement floor, a 4 x 6 hole and is about 30 feet deep.
The one American stall has a raised cement hole with a toilet seat bolted in place, just like home...almost. The 2 separate buildings were for both students and teachers. 6 doors for the boys and 4 for the girls. And yes the students clean them daily. Mr. Draper took the pictures while on a missionary assignment in Luwero, Uganda 2003.
What else can you see in the images shown? Many times a photo is worth a thousand words and I've only elaborated with a few so why don't you add some "color commentary" to my collection. If your addition is worthy, you will find the quote added on the Comments to the Curator page.
